Host a Fundraiser
Businesses, churches, and organizations can play a key role in supporting the mission of Sister2Sister by organizing fundraising events of all kinds. In the past, we’ve hosted “Taste of Kenya” and “Samosa Saturday” gatherings, as well as benefit concerts that showcase incredible local talent while raising essential funds.
These events not only bring people together in a spirit of generosity and community, but they also help shine a light on the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya. Whether you have an idea of your own or want to build on past successes, we’d love to partner with you to make it happen.
Hold a “Taste of Kenya Saturday” or “Samosa Saturday”
Host a fun and flavorful fundraising event centered around authentic Kenyan cuisine, prepared by Purity Ruchugo herself. You can offer your place of business, church, organizational venue, or other large space as a hosting site. Many churches choose to partner by providing volunteers to help with setup, serving, and hospitality while Purity prepares the delicious meal. These events are not only a wonderful way to raise funds for the Sister2Sister Children’s Home and School, but also offer a rich cultural experience that brings communities together in support of a meaningful cause.
Purchase African Handmade Crafts
Support the mission of Sister2Sister and celebrate African artistry by purchasing handmade goods brought directly from Kenya. At many fundraising events, Purity Ruchugo sets up a pop-up shop featuring beautifully crafted items — jewelry, baskets, textiles, home décor, and more — made by local Kenyan artisans. These meaningful purchases not only raise funds for the children’s home and school, but also support the livelihoods of the artisans back in Kenya. It’s a wonderful way to shop with purpose and take home a piece of the mission.
Sponsor an Event
Become an event sponsor and help make a lasting impact by supporting the planning and success of a Sister2Sister fundraiser. Whether it’s a Taste of Kenya evening, Samosa Saturday, benefit concert, or a community outreach day, your sponsorship helps cover costs such as venue rentals, promotional materials, food, and setup — ensuring more of the funds raised go directly to benefit the children at the Sister2Sister Children’s Home and School. Sponsors may receive recognition during events, on printed materials, and through our social media and website platforms. It’s a meaningful way for individuals, businesses, or groups to make a difference while also showcasing their commitment to global outreach and compassionate action.
Invite Purity for a Speaking Engagement
Bring the heart of the mission to your community by inviting Purity Ruchugo, founder of Sister2Sister International Outreach Ministry, to speak at your church, school, organization, or special event.
Purity’s powerful storytelling and firsthand experiences bring the challenges and triumphs of the children in Kenya to life, inspiring listeners with a message of faith, resilience, and compassion. Whether she’s speaking to a small group or a large audience, Purity offers a compelling and personal connection to the work being done on the ground in Ngong.
Her visits often lead to lasting partnerships, increased awareness, and renewed purpose in serving others. This is a unique opportunity to engage your community with a global mission that changes lives.
Donate Designated Funds via the Website
One of the most direct and effective ways to support Sister2Sister is through financial contributions. You can donate securely through our official website and choose to designate your gift toward specific areas — such as food for the daily feeding program, school supplies, utilities, maintenance of the children’s home, or general operations. Every dollar goes a long way in providing care, education, and a safe environment for the children we serve in Ngong, Kenya. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring monthly donation, your generosity fuels our mission and helps us continue being a light in the lives of these precious children.
Volunteer at an Event
Not everyone has to host an event to make a difference — sometimes, simply showing up to help is the greatest gift! Sister2Sister welcomes volunteers who are willing to lend a hand at local fundraisers such as Taste of Kenya, Samosa Saturdays, craft fairs, or benefit concerts. Whether it’s setting up tables, serving food, assisting with the pop-up shop, or helping with clean-up, your time and energy make these events run smoothly and leave a lasting impression on attendees. Volunteering is a hands-on way to be part of something meaningful, build community, and directly support the children in Ngong, Kenya.
Pray for the Mission
One of the most meaningful ways you can support Sister2Sister International is through prayer. We believe in the power of prayer to open doors, provide protection, bring healing, and sustain both the children and the ministry team. Please keep the children of Ngong, Kenya, in your prayers — asking for their safety, growth, education, and emotional well-being. Pray also for the staff, volunteers, and leadership as they continue to serve with love and faith. Your spiritual support uplifts the entire mission and helps carry it forward, day by day.
